Meet Ben Race: Managing Director
Background

Ben Race specialises in recruiting legal professionals to national and international law firms with a particular focus on Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley. Having been called to the Bar in 2006, Ben advised on complex fraud matters within a Tier-1 criminal defence firm in London and Revenue & Customs Prosecution Office (RCPO) before subsequently joining the FCA enforcement team where he played an integral role to the city regulators big bank investigations post-Lehman.
Having made the transition into executive legal search in 2011, Ben joined a leading global search firm based in London where he successfully completed mandates for: Legal 100 – Legal 500, Magic Circle and US law firms.
Due to his extensive industry contacts, Ben has advised on a number of contentious and non-contentious financial regulatory and “big-ticket” litigation appointments for US and UK law firms.
Prior to setting up Race Legal Recruitment, Ben was responsible for successfully launching and managing a leading legal recruitment agency based in Oxfordshire for over 12 years.
Our Charity of the Year
Ben and his family adopted Freya the Samoyed from UK-based charity, Great Bulls of China, who found her close to death at a refuse centre in China before flying her to the UK to be permanently rehomed.
For 2025-2026, GBOC are the nominated charity of the year for Race Legal Recruitment Limited. 5% of annual profits will be donated to GBOC to allow them to continue their essential work rehoming other dogs like Freya from China.
GBOC are a small non-profit group of volunteers that have been rescuing dogs from the Chinese meat trade since 2019. The organisation is dedicated to rescuing dogs and rehoming them in the UK, providing them with medical treatment, a safe place to stay, and finding them forever homes or foster families for a better quality of life:
